"Innesti" vase.
A few weeks ago I was walking through a forest in the Dolomites and there was so much wood on the ground. Past storms have knocked down a lot of trees and deforestation work has left many small pieces of wood on the soil. They are beautiful pieces of wood, with some particular curvature or with a very attractive and natural weathered finish.
So I asked myself if I could use those small pieces of wood in some way for my works. I would have liked to combine wood with ceramics but still, while I was thinking walking in the woods, I didn't know how I could do it.
Then I thought of the easiest way to join two things together: tie them together.
I thought about the grafting of fruit trees that farmers do and so the "Innesti" series was born.
Glazed Stoneware.
Coral Glaze.
Coniferous wood.
Plastic cord.
Firing Temperature: 1240°C
The diameter of the vase is 11 cm.
The height of the vase is about 28 cm.
The weight of the vase is about 894 gr.
