circLe – New Series of Works

circLe is the new series of artworks made entirely from colored cardboard, meticulously layered by hand with artisanal precision to create depth, volume, and a hypnotic three-dimensional effect.

Each piece consists of perfect concentric circles that appear to vibrate and shift with the light, generating a powerful sense of movement and visual fascination.

The name circLe comes precisely from this hypnotic geometry: it evokes the mythological figure of the enchantress Circe, capable of casting spells and transformations, while playing with the “L” of circle — a symbol of perfection, cyclicity, and harmony.

After approximately a year of research and experimentation, I chose to explore this new creative language, working with light and natural materials. It is a different direction from my work with ceramics and resins — techniques that continue to be an important part of my artistic journey — but one that allows me to achieve surprising results with a lighter and more conscious approach.

Each work is finished with a frame in natural wood, selected to enhance the purity of the colors and to integrate harmoniously into any environment. The raw, living edges of the layered cardboard create subtle shadows and reliefs that change throughout the day, making the piece feel alive and different depending on the light.

Ideal both as unique collector’s pieces and as powerful decorative elements, the works in the circLe series dialogue perfectly with contemporary interiors, lofts, minimalist spaces, studios, and private homes. They can be installed individually or in multiple compositions, as suggested by the images, to create emotionally charged feature walls with strong visual impact.

Available in various chromatic variations — from warm tones of red, orange, and yellow to cool blues and turquoises, as well as sophisticated combinations of grays and blacks — each circLe is a small hypnotic universe, ready to capture the gaze and transform the space it inhabits.

The Creative Process

Each work in the circLe series is the result of a fully artisanal process that requires time, precision, and patience. Starting with the careful selection of colored cardboards, I cut each individual concentric ring and then layer them one by one to create depth and volume.

Every piece is unique and made to order or in small editions. The average dimensions are 50 × 50 cm, with small variations depending on the number of layers and the chosen color composition.

The natural wood frame completes the work, enhancing the colors and adding elegance to the final piece.

Light in Motion

Just as the gnomon of a sundial or the needle of an hourglass marks the passage of time under the sun, a single light source slowly rotates around the circLe artwork.

With every degree of movement, the concentric shadows shift, lengthen, and transform. The raw edges of the layered cardboard come alive, revealing hidden depths and subtle nuances that were previously concealed.
